King & Spalding hires former Cadwalader chair Jim Woolery

King & Spalding has hired Jim Woolery, who joins the firm as its new head of M&A in New York. Woolery joins the firm from Hudson Executive Capital, a hedge fund that he co-founded. He previously served as chair of Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft, and held prior positions at JP Morgan Chase & Co and Cravath Swaine & Moore. King & Spalding’s turnover surpassed the $1bn mark in 2016 after increasing 9% over the previous year.
