Simmons reports 7% revenue increase

Simmons & Simmons has revealed its first 2016/17 financial results, reporting a 7% increase in revenues, which rose by £21m from £295m to £316m. Profit per equity partner (PEP) rose by 9% from £585,000 to £635,000, and net profit increased by 12% compared to 2015/16. Managing partner Jeremy Hoyland credits the firm’s growth to its practices in continental Europe and the Middle East. The 900-lawyer firm has also expanded its litigation and employment practices. Simmons has opened a new office in Luxembourg, launched a joint law venture in Singapore, and brought on 28 partners as lateral hires during the last 15 months.
