Five-partner Henry Davis York team departs prior to Norton Rose merger

A team of five partners from the banking and finance team at Henry Davis York (HDY) has departed from the firm to join the Sydney office of Corrs Chambers Westgarth. The departure comes prior to the finalization of an upcoming merger between HDY and Norton Rose Fulbright. The team includes Michael Catchpoole, Cameron Cheetham, Ben Emblin, Craig Ensor and Patrick O’Grady. According to Corrs CEO John Denton, the firm anticipates an uptick in demand for multifunctional restructuring capabilities due to recent safe harbor legislation. The new team will join Corrs’ restructuring and insolvency practice, expanding the firm’s existing six-partner practice.
