Freshfields to freeze 2017/18 junior pay rates

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has opted to freeze its associate and trainee pay bands for the 2017/18 year. The firm last completed a review of pay levels in May 2016, after which the firm implemented pay increases. Last year’s increases saw NQ salaries rise from £67,500 to £85,000. First-year trainees are paid £43,000 per year, while second-year trainees receive £48,000. Julian Long, Freshfields’ London managing partner, said the firm’s current pay rates continue to be competitive compared to other firms’ compensation plans.
