Lateral move in Scotland after Dentons merger
Shepherd and Wedderburn has hired Philip Sewell from Maclay Murray & Spens(MMS). The lateral move between rivaling Scottish firms coincides with the merger between the MMS and multinational Dentons.
Sewell’s expertise is broad, having dealt with insurance, shareholder disputes, health and safety, commercial fraud, and personal negligence, among other things. Prior to his position at MMS, he was the head of dispute resolution at McClure Naismith’s London practice.
Chief executive Stephen Gibb said of the hire, “Philip’s expertise will be an asset for many of our commercial clients, including those taking advantage of our funded litigation offering, which mitigates the financial risk of engaging in litigation.”
