Holman Fenwick formalizes Indonesian alliance

November 10, 2017 In another bid to strengthen its Indonesian presence, HFW has formalized its alliance with Jakarta law firm Rahayu & Partners.

Rahayu & Partners founder Sri Rahayu (Ayu) will now be a partner at the UK firm. He will continue his close working relationship with Jakarta-based HFW partner Haydn Dare and also Brian Gordon of the firm’s Singapore office.

The three lawyers have overlapping areas of expertise. Ayu specializes in banking finance and corporate transactions. Gordon’s expertise includes corporate finance, cross-border M&A transactions, and project finance. Meanwhile, Dare deals in M&A transactions, infrastructure and project finance, and foreign energy and mineral resources investments.

While HFW’s core sectors are aerospace, commodities, and shipping, the Jakarta alliance will additionally focus on such areas as finance and capital markets, dispute resolution, IP, and construction.

This Indonesian expansion follows the firm’s entrance last year into a formal association with Wintell & Co., a China-based shipping firm. HFW has also formed alliances with local firms in Kuwait, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia. All these alliances bring HFW’s total lawyer count in the Asia-Pacific region to 104.
