Fieldfisher’s Growth Continues with Announcement of 20% H1 Growth
Fieldfisher has announced a 20% rise in turnover as it reports its half-year results for 2017/18. This news comes after opening several new international offices. The firm is making an excellent showing as one of the LB100’s fastest growing firms.
The firm’s half-year revenue sits at £76.8m, having risen from £64.1m. Not included in this figure is the turnover from the Swiss Verein members. It does cover all of Fieldfisher’s offices in the UK, Paris, Brussels, Silicon Valley, and all of Germany. The firm has had a steady and impressive growth since 2015/16. That year revenue rose by 8%, and was followed up by a 10% increase the H1 Stage the following year. The full-year performance for 2016/17 was an enviable 36%, reaching £165m.
The firm’s notable success is being widely attributed to its broad expansion in the last year, including new offices in Birmingham, The Netherlands, China, and Italy. As told by managing partner Michael Chissick in an interview with Legal Business, “The office openings were key for us. Luckily, they’ve all been successful. Every office last year had its highest-ever turnover and we will probably do the same this year.”
Another factor that contributed to the firm’s strong performance was its alternative legal services platform Condor, which strives to combine technology solutions and document data management with low-cost legal expertise. Condor itself expanded to Belfast by partnering with Donaldson Legal Consulting and also opened an office in South Africa.
