Ashurst’s Frankfurt office acquires DLA office head
Ashurst has hired Michael Holzhäuser to join the firm’s competition team in Germany. Holzhäuser currently works as the Frankfurt managing partner for DLA Piper, after having left Dewey & LeBoeuf in 2012.
At DLA, Holzhäuser worked under regional corporate co-chair Thomas Schmuck, heading the firm’s cartel law practice in Germany.
Tobias Krug, managing partner at Ashurst’s Frankfurt branch, commented: “Germany is one of the most important markets for antitrust in the EU, and in the last three years we have witnessed high growth in antitrust investigations and competition litigation issue. Michael’s appointment therefore comes at a critical and exciting time, and I am delighted to welcome him to the firm.”
