Kirkland lands acquisition of Latham private equity veteran

February 8, 2018 Continuing its string of high profile hires, Kirkland & Ellis has acquired Jennifer Perkins, currently serving as global co-chair of private equity at Latham & Watkins.

Perkins’ area of expertise involves mainly work with dispositions, leveraged buyouts, and other corporate and equity transactions. She cites Kirkland’s “outstanding private equity platform” as an opportunity for her “to continue to grow and develop” her practice.

News of her hire follows the firm’s addition of private equity partner David Higgins, who left Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer to take the position of London co-managing partner for the US firm. In an upset, the firm also snagged New York M&A star Eric Schiele from Cravath Swaine & Moore.
