White & Case joins oil boom with new Texas office
White & Case (W&C) has recruited three partners from Vinson & Elkins (V&E) and Andrews Kurth Kenyon to launch its seventh US office in Houston.
The oil and gas work in the city continues to be a draw for firms, as W&C follows behind Kirkland & Ellis, Willkie Farr & Gallagher, Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe, and Gibson Dunn & Crutcher in opening up Texas branches.
Leading W&C’s Houston office will be Jay Cuclis, a V&E partner with experience in both Texas and Hong Kong. He will be accompanied by Andrews partners Christopher Richardson and Charlie Ofner. Ofner is also a former V&E partner. Rounding out the launch team is London and Abu Dhabi W&C partner Saul Daniel.
