Team of 50 leaves DLA Piper for McDermott in US
McDermott Will & Emery has performed a massive overhaul on DLA Piper, recruiting close to 50 partners for a new California office.
McDermott intends to open a branch in San Francisco, the firm’s fourth California office in addition to those in Los Angeles, Silicon Valley, and Orange County.
Included in the move are a number of heavy hitters, such as DLA Piper’s global real estate finance co-chair Jeffrey Steiner. He follows in the footsteps of former DLA Piper employment global co-chair Michael Sheehan and Americas co-managing partner Michael Poulos, both of whom left for McDermott earlier this year.
Other significant partners making the move are employment partners Michelle Strowhiro, Ellen Bronchetti, Marilyn Pearson, Rachel Cowen, Maria Rodriguez, Pankit Doshi, Ron Holland, Dave Durham, and Chris Foster; litigation partners Seth Friedman, Larry Wojcik, Nicole Figueroa, Mike Piazza, Jason Gerstein, Raphael Larson, and Tim Hoeffner; and real estate finance partners Scott Weinberg and Robert Unger.
