Three more DLA partners follow 50-lawyer flight to McDermott

April 28, 2018 The ink barely dry on a move that saw 50 lawyers, including 20 partners, leaving DLA Piper for McDermott Will & Emery, three more real estate partners from DLA are joining the exodus.

Laurence Rogers, Neville Wright and Tom Calnan are joining McDermott. Rogers is a real estate finance specialist, while Wright focuses on corporate tax and Calnan on commercial real estate. Wright arrived just over a year ago from King & Wood Mallesons, while Rogers and Wright both previously were partners at legacy firm Berwin Leighton Paisner.

The hiring of Rogers is notable, as he once served as UK head of real estate at DLA. He joins two other division leaders hired by McDermott, including former DLA global co-chair of finance Jeffrey Steiner.

Neither of the firms have offered comments to outlets on the recent moves.
