Freshfields names new corp head after veteran retirement
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has named M&A partner Julian Pritchard as its next London head of transactions as the current head Simon Marchant plans for retirement in July.
Pritchard has been with Freshfields since 1993, and made partner in 2002. This appointment is not his first leadership role at the firm, having served as US managing partner from 2009 to 2014.
Corporate veteran Marchant is retiring after close to 30 years at Freshfields. He joined in 1989, making partner in 1997 and being appointed London head of transactions in 2014. He replaced the current London managing partner Julian Long in the role.
