Paul Hastings poaches private equity star from DLA
Paul Hastings has recruited private equity rainmaker Anu Balasubramanian from DLA Piper. She will lead the firm’s London private equity practice.
Balasubramanian worked at Kirkland & Ellis from 2006 to 2013, when she left the firm for DLA. She made partner in 2014, and soon after became a leading playmaker in the private equity market. She joins Paul Hastings’ corporate and private equity practice alongside fellow high-profile lawyers Ronan O’Sullivan and Garrett Hayes.
Her departure from DLA is another blow to the firm after a series of high-profile exits, including those of real estate partners Neville Wright, Laurence Rogers, and Tom Calnan, who were hired as a trio by McDermott Will & Emery.
