Freshfields to launch continental Europe hub in Berlin
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has announced plans to launch a hub in continental Europe, likely in Berlin.
The firm’s goal with the hub is develop a support service for its continental European offices, which will create approximately 100 new roles. Should Berlin be the location of the hub, the firm’s Berlin branch, with around 80 staff members, would relocate by the end of the year.
Freshfields managing partner Stephan Eilers praised the firm’s global growth strategy, calling it “pretty radical.” He also explained that Berlin is the best city in which to create such a hub due its large legal tech and start-up scenes.
