Milbank raises benchmark, heats up hiring competition

June 6, 2018 Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy has announced that it will raise the minimum salary of associates to $190,000, beginning 1 July.

The move sets Milbank apart from competing firms particularly in New York, where the race to recruit top associates is heating up more and more. It’s Milbank’s second major raise in two years, after the 2016 increase to $180,000.

Meanwhile in the UK, London co-managing partner Julian Stait spoke very positively of the raised benchmark, stating that it is a result of the firm “doing very well,” and highlighted that the associates’ “incredible contribution” merits the recognition.
