Freshfields matches recent US associate salary bump trend

June 20, 2018 Following the recent announcement by Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy that it would be raising its starting salary for US associates, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has made the same move, matching Milbank’s competitive rate.

Both firms now offer a $190,000 starting salary, which by an associate’s eighth year would reach $330,000. These figures fall just shy of those of Clifford Chance, which all offers $190,000 to start, but awards $350,000 to senior associates and summer bonuses from $5,000 to $25,000.

Meanwhile Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan falls right in the middle, with a $190,000 starting salary and a $340,000 rate for senior associates.
