Slaughters to open second incubator to appeal to legal tech start-ups
Slaughter and May has confirmed the launch of a legal technology incubator, jumping on board the growing trend of major firms.
Slaughters already has a fintech incubator called Fast Forward. Its new program will specialize in legal tech, opening by mid-2019.
Slaughters technology head Rob Sumroy mentioned that this second incubator would model itself after the firm’s first, but with a different focus. The reason for the separate program is to draw in legal tech start-ups that “have shied away” from engaging in the firm’s fintech incubator.
Fellow magic circle firms Allen & Overy, Mishcon de Reya, and Dentons already have similar legal tech incubators.
