Simmons brings on Freshfields partner James Grand

Simmons & Simmons has hired James Grand, a partner who joins the firm from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Upon joining Simmons, Grand will head up its collateralized loan obligations (CLO) practice, which is a part of the structured finance and derivatives practice. He has been with Freshfields since 1995 and was made up to partner in 2007. According to Paul Browne, Simmons’ head of structured finance and derivatives, the CLO market continues to grow in London, despite uncertainty surrounding Brexit.
