Orrick launches program for associates seeking to join client companies

Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe has launched a new programed aimed toward assisting associates who seek to leave the firm to take on new positions with clients. The new program acknowledges that some associates prefer to eventually leave the firm to pursue in-house opportunities with clients. According to chief talent officer Siobhan Handley, the firm recognizes that some associates fare better within the firm, while others prefer to join external organizations or client companies. Chief innovation officer Wendy Butler Curtis has also been tasked by the firm to examine how the firm works with talent and delivers legal services. The new program also features advice from firm alumni who have departed to take on positions at startups, financial institutions, and government organizations, among others.
