$72m malpractice verdict againt against Akin Gump

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld was hit with a $72.6 million judgment for botching a patent application filed by a Texas-based company and an inventor. A San Antonio jury found that Akin Gump misled the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office while handling an Air Measurement Technologies's application to patent a type of emergency alarm.
