Mass exodus at White & Case: Eight more partners join Latham

Another eight partners from White & Case's global network are joining Latham & Watkins. The Lawyer reports that an international group of lawyers with expertise in banking and finance and Middle East matters is heading to US rival Latham & Watkins. The group consists of Villiers Terblanche and Nick Collins in Abu Dhabi, Craig Nethercott and Glen Ireland in London, Christopher Cross and Clement Fondufe in New York and Christopher Langdon and Mohammed Al-Sheikh, a sponsor to White & Case in Riyadh. The departures follow last Friday's news that White & Case lost four partners to Latham & Watkins in London, including White & Case’s co-head of the London bank finance group, Chris Kandel. The arrival of the twelve new partners is a significant boost to Latham's presence in the bank finance sector in London and the Middle East and will spark worries about whether clients such as Deutsche Bank and Goldman Sachs will follow them.
