Morrison & Foerster raises first-year salaries back to $160K

Morrison & Foerster has raised first-year salaries back to $160,000. The US law firm had lowered starting salaries outside of New York and Asia to $145,000 in October. Major US firms starting associate salaries have fallen since the recession ended a salary war that had raised starting pay to $160,000 nearly everywhere. According to The Recorder, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman is paying its first-years $145,000, while Latham & Watkins raised salaries back to 2008 levels, starting at $160,000 for first-years and $170,000 for 2Ls. Cooley Godward Kronish will pay first-years $160,000 and second-years $165,000.
