Top Silicon Valley bio-tech lawyer Halluin killed in plane crash

Albert P. Halluin, one of Silicon Valley's most prominent lawyers, and his fiancee died when his single-engine aircraft went down west of Yosemite National Parkt. Halluin, one of the most renowned biotechnology patent lawyers and strategists in the US, joined Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in 2004 as Senior Counsel in its Palo Alto office. Halluin focused on cbiotechnology, including research into stem cells and DNA chips. He was known for his work in preparing patents for pioneering work and for arguing when breakthroughs in biotechnology and chemistry research ought to be available for anyone to use.
