Offshore firm Harneys swells the ranks with 6 new hires

Offshore firm Harneys has hired six new associates across three offices. The firm’s London office has hired Fiona Chandler, a specialist in investment funds, corporate and restructuring work, from rival offshore firm Maples & Calder. The Cayman Islands office takes on Mark Bakacs from Sidley Austin, Angelene Galway from Allen & Overy, and Thomas Williams, who has practiced as a litigation attorney in Cayman since November 2008. Bakacs and Galway will practise in the investment funds, and corporate and commercial teams, while Williams will work in corporate and commercial litigation. The British Virgin Islands office has hired 4 New Square barrister Claire Robey and O’Melveny & Myers counsel Lewis Chong. Robey specialises in international commercial litigation, insolvency and company law, while Chong focuses on investment funds and securitisation.
