DLA Piper hires Wolf Theiss team to boost Czech presence

US law firm DLA Piper has bolstered its practice in the Czech Republic with the hire of a team of lawyers from Austrian firm Wolf Theiss. The team is led by partners Pavel Marc and Jakub Adam, who are followed by a number of associates. Peter Valert, country managing partner in DLA Piper Prague, said: “This is an extremely important development for our operations in the Czech Republic and for our practice across the CEE region. These lawyers are highly regarded practitioners in their fields of expertise and have participated in a number of major corporate, finance, energy and real estate transactions over recent years, in the Czech Republic and regionally.” Wolf Theiss’s chief strategic officer Janis Nordstrom said: “Post-crisis, there have been numerous moves within the Prague legal market due to a variety of offers from various law firms for individuals and teams and we too have been scouting the market for additional talent recently. It was an amicable separation and we wish them well.”
