Maternity leave survey: Weil Gotshal takes top spot
Weil Gotshal & Manges taking the top spot for best policy – 26 weeks at full pay followed by 26 weeks at half pay.
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Linklaters, Herbert Smith and Macfarlanes were all found to offer attractive packages. Allen & Overy’s policy stood out among the Magic Circle firms for being on the stingy side: 12 weeks at full pay and then a return to the statutory minimum. The firm offers an eight week return to work bonus, but it is not paid until the employee has been back for three months.
At the bottom of the ranking comes Howes Percival, which only offers a statutory minimum maternity package.
