DLA Piper starts to rebuild China IP group with Foley & Lardner hire

DLA Piper has hired former Foley & Lardner senior counsel Yan Zhao to join its Greater China intellectual property team as a partner. Yan brings over 13 years experience working in Chinese IP law, is admitted in China and New York, and is a registered patent attorney in China and Singapore. Matthew Glynn, partner and head of IPT for DLA Piper in Asia, incdicated that the firm would be doing further recruitment to rebuild the group after a series of recent departures. “Over the coming months we are hoping to be able to make additional announcements about the further strengthening of our IP offering in China”, he said.
