LeClairRyan appoints new CEO

Richond firm LeClairRyan has appointed David Freinberg as the new CEO, replacing firm co-founder Gary LeClair after a transition period of one year. LeClair will remain chairman and will continue his legal practice. He commented: “Good companies always have a succession plan. We looked at our 125 shareholders and said who do we think will be best for this?” Freinberg will preside over a continued expansion of the firm, which recently absorbed a 14-lawyer practice in New York and has been hiring in its Rochester, Roanoke, Washington, Chicago and San Francisco offices. “We’re continuing to look at growth prospects,” Freinberg said. “We are constantly evolving. One of my tasks is to execute on our long-term strategy.”
