Three firms advise on Sinopec's $2.1b resources co acquisition
Three firms have advised on the $2.1 billion acquisition of Canadian oil and gas exploration company Daylight Energy by the China National Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (Sinopec). comments powered by Disqus
Sinopec was advised by Vinson & Elkins and Canadian firm Bennett Jones. The Vinson & Elkins team is led by energy partner David Blumental, who is comanaging partner of Vinson's Shanghai office. Also working on the deal are energy partner Jay Kolb in Shanghai and capital markets partner Brenda Lenahan in New York. The Bennett Jones team is led by corporate cochair John Kousinioris and Jon Truswell.
Canadian firm Blake, Cassels & Graydon are advising Daylight on the sale, with corporate partners Chad Schneider and Pat Finnerty, antitrust and regulatory partner Jason Gudofsky, and tax partner Edward Rowe working on the deal.
