US firm Pillsbury Winthrop shifts support services across the country

Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman has announced that it will outsource legal support services to its very own Professional Services Center in Nashville Tennesee. The centre will take care of information technology, finance, new client intake, word processing, and other non-legal professional services. The firm plans to begin transferring support staff to the centre in spring, and will recruit more staff with the aim of making the centre fully operational at around 150 employees by the end of next year. The firm’s CFO, Sean Whelan, as well as its CIO, Martin Metz, will be relocating to Nashville to set up and run the center.
