DLA Piper hires former Linklaters managing partner

DLA Piper has scored a major coup with the hire of former Linklaters managing partner Tony Angel. Angel is rumoured to have been offered a remuneration package worth £2m a year to take over the role of senior partner. Current senior partner Janet Legrand will move sideways, retaining her position on the board. Angel retired from Linklaters in 2007, and returned to the law as a non-executive director at SJ Berwin earlier this year. He has now resigned from SJ Berwin and is ready to join DLA Piper on Monday 7 November after a two-week voting period.
