Pillsbury associate leaves to become general counsel in Chinese security firm

A senior associate in Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman’s Washington DC office has been hired as the general counsel at client company China Security & Surveillance Technology. Jing Zhang, a native mandarin speaker, will relocate to Hong Kong for her new role, taking over from the current general counsel Samuel Lo on 3 January. “We’ve been working closely with CSST since 2006 after it became a public company in the US, advising on a number of its transactions. When the senior management offered me the opportunity, I accepted it with great enthusiasm,” said Zhang. “I look forward to the new challenges as a general counsel and also look forward to moving back to China, where corporate and financing transactions are more active than in the US.”
