South African firm Adams & Adams picks up Bowman Gilfillan IP team

South African corporate law firm Bowman Gilfillan is set transfer its team of 20 intellectual property lawyers to the specialist firm Adams & Adams in a "win-win" deal, according to Bowman Gilfillan chairman Jonathan Schlosberg. The deal will enlarge the capacity and client list for Adams & Adams, making it biggest specialist intellectual property firm in Africa and across the southern hemisphere, while Bowman Gilfillan is afforded the opportunity to slim down and focus on its core corporate law business. Dario Tanziani, Chairman of Adams & Adams, says: "We see great opportunities and synergies to be gained from the merger of the two intellectual property practices. We are excited about the outstanding intellectual property practitioners joining us from a top law firm such as Bowman Gilfillan and bringing with them a blue chip (IP) client base. The consolidation of the two practices into Adams & Adams will provide IP clients of both firms with unrivalled collective capacity, experience and expertise.
