US firm Quinn Emmanuel set to follow ambitious expansion strategy

US litigation firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan has released the details of an ambitious new expansion strategy. The firm wishes to add to its existing German presence - which currently consists of a two-partner office in Mannheim - by launching an office in Hamburg immediately, and following up with a launch in Munich before the end of the year. The firm also intends to launch an office in Zurich, which will be led by recent recruit Thomas Werlen - formerly global general counsel at pharmaceuticals giant Novartis. And there are also plans to expand in Asia, adding a new base in Singapore. The strategy also calls for the expansion of the firm’s London base - which currently has seven partners - ramping up the intellectual property and arbitration offerings.
