Eversheds' pilot program for in-house contract work sees success

UK firm Eversheds’ experiment with an in-house contract lawyer service has proven to be a success, and the firm has endorsed the pilot project by making it permanent. Eversheds Agile offers contract lawyers to clients under the supervision of the parent firm. It was expected that the program would have 10 to 15 lawyers on the Agile roster by the end of the one-year trial period, but project has expanded to include nearly 80 lawyers in just six months. Partner Graham Richardson, who oversees the project, said that the firm is in the planning stages of another venture, teaming with Accenture to provide legal process outsourcing onshore.
