Slaughter & May and Allen and Overy make annual promotions

Slaughter and May and Allen & Overy have announced their annual partner promotions, with 23 made up at A&O and two made up at Slaughters. Slaughters elevated financing lawyer Ed Fife in London, and dispute resolution lawyer Mark Hughes in Hong Kong, taking the total partner headcount at the firm to 122, of which just 22 are female. A&O’s promotions are spread across 14 of its offices. Of the 23 promoted lawyers, nine are women. A&O managing partner Wim Dejonghe said: "These global promotions reflect the cross-border nature of our work and the strength of our international network, the largest of any of the elite law firms. "The retention of our female lawyers through to partnership remains one of our key priorities and it is great to see us continue to retain such talent through to partnership."
