German firm Glade Michel Wirtz adds two Shearman & Sterling partners to the team

German corporate and competition boutique Glade Michel Wirtz has made a couple of high profile lateral hires, bringing two partners across from US firm Shearman & Sterling: corporate lawyer Marco Sustmann and international M&A specialist Andreas Merkner. Glade MIchel Wirtz was founded by three former Taylor & Wessing partners in Düsseldorf in 2007, and the new hires - from Shearman and Sterling’s Düsseldorf and Munich offices - mark the first time that the firm has augmented its partnership, bringing the partner headcount to five. Co-founding partner Achim Glade told The Lawyer: “Our firm policy is to grow internally but this was an opportunity that provided a perfect match for us. They have vast experience in our core areas while also bringing in complementary expertise in new areas - Andreas is very highly skilled in stock corporation law and Marco is highly experienced in equity capital markets law.”
