Orrick boosts China presence with partner hires in Hong Kong and Beijing

Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe boosted capacity in Asia by adding two new partners to its Hong Kong and Beijing offices.   The firm hired Mathew Lewis, formerly the Hong Kong-based head of the in-house legal team for the global capital markets group at Morgan Stanley, and is relocating him to Orrick’s Beijing office. Lewis will join Orrick as a partner in the capital markets practice.   Meanwhile, Seung Chong joins Orrick in Hong Kong from the local office of Proskauer Rose, which he joined as a partner just last year. Chong is qualified in Hong Kong and the US, and focuses on China-related mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions.
