British firms Shakespeares and Harvey Ingram set to merge

British law firm Shakespeares is set to merge with Harvey Ingram, creating a combined firm - under the name Shakespeares - with a £50m turnover and a headcount of about 815 lawyers and staff. Shakespeares brings offices in the Birmingham, Leicester, Moreton-in-Marsh, Nottingham, Shipston-on-Stour and Stratford-upon-Avon. Harvey Ingram has offices in Birmingham, Bedford, Leicester, Milton Keynes and Newport Pagnell. Shakespeares' Paul Wilson will be the chief executive of the merged firm. He commented on the deal, saying: "This is a highly significant deal for both firms and it will position us for growth in a shifting legal marketplace. This merger marks a new beginning for us all and I am looking forward to working with my colleagues to guide the firm as it continues to grow and strengthen its bank of expertise."
