DLA Piper in advanced merger talks with Paris firm

DLA Piper is in advanced merger-negotiations with French corporate boutique Frieh Bouhenic, in a bid to expand its presence in Paris. The firm plans to use the merger to add some star power to its Paris office, which is led by litigation specialist Bruce Mee. The 26-lawyer Frieh Bouhenic was established in January 2012 by ex-Linklaters partner Michel Frieh and Pierre-Alain Bouhenic, formerly of Weil Gotshal & Manges. Frieh Bouhenic is itself the product of a merger between Frieh & Associés (established in 2007) and Bouhénic Baudin & Associés, (established in 2008).
