Akin Gump appoints new Beijing head

September 25, 2012 Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld has shuffled the leadership at its Beijing office, hiring corporate lawyer William L. Rosoff to replace former Beijing head Spencer Griffith, who is set to relocate back to the firm’s Washington DC office.

Rossoff’s practice focuses the structuring and negotiation of complex mergers, hostile takeovers, cross border acquisitions, and joint ventures. He also has experience in the handling of infrastructure projects and transactions.

“Bill (Rosoff) is a great addition to our firm and represents another strong step forward for Akin Gump in Asia,” said Rick Burdick, the international managing partner at Akin Gump. He added: “The increasingly sophisticated work that we are handling for clients in China and throughout Asia makes Bill, with his broad corporate practice and in-depth knowledge of the Chinese legal system, an excellent fit”.
