Alliance committee for Linklaters and Webber Wentzel

February 26, 2013 Linklaters and South African firm Webber Wentzel have assembled a cross-firm committee of partners to guide their alliance, after the firms tied up on 1 February 2013.

Linklaters is represented by emerging Europe, Middle East and Africa chief Sandeep Katwala, Africa co-head Andrew Jones and capital markets partner Patrick Sheil, all of whom were involved in negotiating the alliance.

Webber Wentzel also has three people on the committee: senior partner David Lancaster (who spearheaded the negotiations with Linklaters on his firm’s behalf), M&A co-head Christo Els and head of energy and mining projects Peter Leon.

The alliance has seen Webber Wentzel change its branding to refer to Linklaters, though it is not regarded as a relationship that will lead to merger.
