Large US law firms cut down summer associate classes

September 5, 2013 Above the Law reports that summer associate classes at most large law firms are diminishing in size.

There are only eight firms that increased the size of their summer classes since 2007, including Sullivan & Cromwell, Cravath, Davis Polk, and Quinn Emanuel.

Firms based in California decreased their summer associate intake by 33.6%, while firms in Chicago lost 51% of their summer associate intake, firms in New York City lost 22.5%, and firms in Washington DC lost 29.6%.
