DLA Piper appoints NY practice co-head
DLA Piper has appointed a new co-managing partner for its Manhattan office, putting New York litigation chief Richard Hans in the top job alongside Heidi Levine. Hans will continue to lead the litigation practice as he takes up his new duties, including managing office operations and communications between offices.
“The biggest challenge here in New York is, the competition in this city is as strong, if not stronger, than anywhere else in the world,” said Hans. “It is challenging because there are really good lawyers that are looking to go after the same business that we’re going after. In this economy, where clients are keeping their cards close to the vest, there is not as much business to go around both on the corporate side and the litigation side.” But, he added, “I’m exited to take on the role.”
