Walker Morris to shut down personal injury practice

November 26, 2013 Leeds firm Walker Morris is set to shutter its personal injury practice, laying off 48 staff.

Despite the firm’s efforts to generate business - rebranding the practice as ‘Distinctly Legal' and attempting to contact prospective clients directly - the firm failed to remain viable.

The firm cited "continuing turmoil" in the market caused by Legal Aid reforms, and managing partner Ian Gilbert told RollOnFriday that "despite having a very capable and committed team within Distinctly Legal...this is not a market in which Walker Morris can differentiate itself".
