Gibson Dunn Opens Singapore Office With 10 Lawyers

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is further expanding its international platform with a new office in Singapore. The new Singapore office, which will have U.S., English and Indian law capabilities, will focus initially on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, energy & infrastructure finance (including project finance), real estate, private equity, capital markets transactions, finance and restructurings. The firm will anchor the new office with Jai Pathak and three partners from Jones Day's Singapore office, Emad Khalil, John Viverito and Saptak Santra. Pathak joined the firm earlier this year and focuses on cross-border transactions with an emphasis on India and other parts of South and Southeast Asia. Pathak was responsible for opening Jones Day's Singapore office and previously led that firm's India practice. "We are committed to expanding our international platform and have made doing so a strategic priority for the firm," said Ken Doran, Managing Partner of Gibson Dunn. "Opening in Singapore, where many of our clients have established their Asian Pacific headquarters, is a logical move for Gibson Dunn. From Singapore, we will be positioned to assist our clients in all of South and Southeast Asia, including India."
