Keoghs enters second redundancy round in 6 months
Keoghs has entered into its second redundancy consultation in six months, putting 19 jobs at risk. The cuts will affect support staff at the firm’s Bolton office, with the firm restructuring its non-fee-earning departments.
A spokesperson said: "Against the backdrop of the LASPO reforms, Keoghs continue to invest in our infrastructure and in particular IT, where new systems drive the efficiencies to deliver and exceed our clients’ key requirements. In short, we are continuing to invest for the future to ensure that we can deliver, not just against our clients current but also their future requirements".
In January Keoghs launched a redundancy consultation in its insurance fraud division, putting 41 staff - including support staff and partners - at risk of being laid off. The firm publicly blamed the cuts to legal aid funding but some commentators said that they were the result of poor management. The number of jobs that were finally lost in that consultation has not been made public.
