Taylor Wessing announces 2018 partnership diversity goals

November 5, 2014 Taylor Wessing has created three initiatives aimed at increasing the percentage of female partners at the firm to 25 percent by the year 2018. Currently, 17 percent of the firm's partners are female.

The three initiatives focus on enhancing flexible working culture through specific firm-wide proposals for change, developing more exchange partner-associate mentorships, and surveying all lawyers at the firm for their ideas on improving inclusivity.

Several firms have focused on targets for female partnership.

Baker & McKenzie established a target of 30 percent female equity partners in April 2013. Herbert Smith Freehills and Linklaters also have 30 percent targets. Pinsent Masons targets 25 percent female partners by 2018 and 30 percent long term while BLP targets 30 percent by 2018. Allen & Overy have a target of 20 percent by year 2020.
