Mayer Brown lures BLP EU competition head

April 30, 2015 Mayer Brown plucked Berwin Leighton Paisner's EU and competition head David Harrison to join and co-head its European antitrust and competition team. Harrison was notably EU and competition head at BLP for 10 years. He joined BLP from Allen & Overy, where he had previously worked since 1998.

Harrison's fellow co-head at Mayer Brown is Jens Peter Schmidt, who is based in Brussels.

Harrison has been practicing competition law for more than 27 years. He has been involved with high profile global cartel investigations in recent years, both under jurisdiction of the European Commission as well as in national investigations by EU member states, in addition to other jurisdictions around the globe.

The role Harrison vacated at BLP has been filled by Andrew Hockley, who has been with BLP since 2010.
